Valery Abramov (1946-2011) - tenor saxophone player from Toronto, Canada. Valery (Valeri) was born in Kandalaksha, Murmansk region of Russia, on December 1st, 1946.
Together with Lev Zabeginsky he co-founded first jazz-club in Petrozavodsk. Before he moved to Canada in 1998 he was considered as the best jazz-tenor-saxophone player in Russia. In Canada he is playing gigs with local jazz musicians. Sometimes he is performing with Russian dance and music ensemble Barynya from New York as bayan and tenor-saxophone player.
